What is the world coming to....

I am so pissed off right now. Again, just from watching the freakin news. That should be banned or something cos it always riles me right up.

The news is presented in every country in such a way that it amounts to nothing else but propaganda. All this business about some obviously offensive cartoon is just spiralling out of control. Angry protests on the streets of london calling for the heads of those who insult Islam. The news seemed to focus mostly on this, not explaining the context of this cartoon or what it actually was, who was responsible for it, etc. A brief statement from Jack Straw, then back to the angry muslims. Some random ethnic explaining how he disagrees with their method of protest, then back to the angry muslims. I can see why they're so angry.

But the whole thing is so ridiculous. From my objectively moral highground, I can honestly say its so childish. Someone in Denmark insults a highly regarded religious figure, knowing full well what he/she is doing, people who are members of said religion say they want their blood, not doing themselves or their religion any favours. The rest of the democratic world finds itself in the difficult position of questioning free speech and it just looks like the already fragile tethers of unity and peace, which are the only things worth living for, are becoming increasingly more strained. I see more war ahead.

Shame on us.
