The above quote is from a film, 'Zatoichi', that I just watched. If you've seen it then you'll know it, if you haven't then see it!
I just wanted to clarify that even though my last post may have seemed to convey a disbelief in God, this is certainly not the case. Unofficially, I'd classify myself as an atheistic buddhist agnostified spiritualist, which basically means I don't know.
I accept and indeed believe in the strong possibility of life existing in realms beyond our own conception, and am always prepared for experience in such domains, if it is something that is within my grasp.
I often feel that there must be more to life than this mon-fri drone, going to the computer farm for 8 hours a day, coming home, again a slave to one screen or another, going to bed, getting up the next day and doing it all again. Of course, I try very hard to pursue my passion for music and knowledge as effectively as I can, but I'm held back by apathy sometimes.
I find it strange that people can put their FAITH completely into the text of some religious literature and so comfortably live their life thinking that its the word of God therefore must be true. I mean yeah most people are susceptible to believing what they read, I'm one of those people no doubt, but to have blind unquestioning faith in something written by an unknown scares the hell out of me. But then maybe fear is what restricts people from questioning the norms of their society which are inevitably encroached in religion.
Supposedly some of these holy books are the very word of God passed through various prophets in various situations. Says who? How can we be so naive? I believe in what Jesus said about turning the other cheek although in reality I'd imagine doing such a thing would only work towards mocking your enemy thus inciting further violence but truly Ghandi and Martin Luther King and of course countless others were onto something by encouraging passive resistance. However there is an exception to every rule, so there may well be circumstances where 'an eye for an eye' may apply. It's certainly a bloody good song though.
Anyway, enough of my pointless non-linear rambling. I lost 1-0 on pro evo 5 yesterday, just from a friggin penalty, and they were a shit team! I was upset. Damn you okocha for being off-side when you scored!
